Dona Paula Beach in Goa

Dona Paula beach in North Goa is famous as a lovers paradise in Goa. The calm water and bronze sand attract tourists to spend some relaxing time at the beach. Local peoples also believe that Dona Paula ended her life on this beach because her parents refuse to marry a poor fisherman. After her death, the then viceroy named the area in her daughter's name to pay tribute to her eternal love. Her tomb, Cabo Raj Niwas, can likewise be found here. Mandovi and Zuari rivers meet with the Arabian Sea at the Dona Paula Beach and increase the beauty of the beach.  One can enjoy an amazing view of the Arabian sea from Dona Paula beach. The Dona Paula sports club provides some of the best water sports activities like Water Skiing, Water Scooter Ride, kayaking, Parasailing, Windsurfing, and Yachting. To satiate the hunger there are restaurants and cafes available close to the beach that serves delicious western food, seafood, Indian food, with a different menu. There are several other sightseeing places for tourists to visit like Reis Magos Church, Salim Bird Sanctuary, and National Oceanography Institute. Dona Paula is also famous as a shooting site for Indian films. The beach is only 7km away from Panjim and one can take a taxi or local bus to reach the beach. From Panjim, it takes around 15 minutes to reach Dona Paula Beach.
